KINGSVILLE — Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid saw an opportunity to bring more healthcare options to his constituents. After a year of work, his efforts paid off.
A grand opening was hosted for the newest Texas A&M Healthy South Texas office Monday afternoon at the Kleberg County Courthouse.
The Healthy South Texas initiative is a joint effort between the Texas A&M Health Science Center and the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service. The staff zeros in on ways to manage diabetes, asthma and infectious diseases.
There are already successful Healthy South Texas offices in Corpus Christi and Victoria, but regional director Starr Flores said there were vulnerable groups in more rural areas of the Coastal Bend.
