LaVise McCray

LaVise McCray is a kidney transplant recipient, retired special education teacher, and passionate organ donation advocate. After navigating years of dialysis and complex medical challenges, she received her life-saving transplant at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she continues to honor her care team and donor through storytelling and outreach. LaVise is active with the NJ Sharing Network, serves as a dialysis mentor with Quality Insights, and volunteers to uplift others through her work with transplant and kidney health communities. Currently pursuing a second degree in psychology, she combines personal experience with professional knowledge to inspire hope and raise awareness around the importance of organ donation and mental wellness.
