About Jon Margalit
Jon Margalit, a startup entrepreneur, is one of millions who suffers from IBD. Jon set out to discover a convenient, nutritious solution made from real food that would both fill and settle his stomach. Jon is leveraging his expertise in business and sales, along with his success from prior startups to share his discovery with the world. Complete Start was founded in 2017 and is experiencing ongoing growth.
Prior to founding Complete Start, Jon launched and sold a multi-million dollar finance company, invented and patented a sport towel line, and revived a software company.

The 2018 Lyfebulb – UnitedHealth Group Innovation Challenge will recognize the top patient entrepreneurs developing innovative ideas for better management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) using healthcare information technology, medical devices, consumer products or services. Patient entrepreneurs are individuals with a chronic disease, or who have a close relative or loved one with a chronic disease, who have founded or lead a company bringing innovative solutions to the market place.

Award & Judging Criteria
The award is open to patient entrepreneurs developing big ideas using healthcare information technology, medical devices, consumer products or services that disrupt and shape the future care and management of patients with IBD.
You are eligible to apply for the 2018 Lyfebulb-UnitedHealth Group Innovation Challenge if:
- You work on innovative ideas and concepts for better care and management of IBD using healthcare information technology, medical devices, consumer products or services; and
- You, or a family member or loved one, live with IBD; and
- Your idea is something other than a pharmaceutical or diagnostic innovation.
WHAT ARE THE JUDGING CRITERIA?
The judging panel will look for evidence in the following categories:
- Patient Entrepreneur story
- Degree of innovation
- Impact on patient needs
- Feasibility of development and implementation into the marketplace

Because they are personally motivated by their own disease, or that of a loved one, patient entrepreneurs have a unique ability to create value-adding disease management solutions beyond therapy.
